Commonwealth Court Candidate Josh Prince Secures Republican Primary Ballot Spot with Over 6,300 Petition Signatures

March 13, 2025

A strong grassroots movement is setting the standard in the race for Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court. With over 6,300 petition signatures filed—more than six times the amount required by the Pennsylvania Department of State Bureau of Elections—Josh Prince has secured his place on the Republican ballot for the Primary Election on May 20th.

Among the 6,300+ signatures, 21 counties exceeded the state’s requirement of at least 100 signatures in each of five different counties. The counties with the highest petition signatures were:

  • Bucks – 608
  • Washington – 543
  • Allegheny – 511
  • Berks – 352
  • Pike – 294

“Across Pennsylvania and our Nation, voters are calling for transparency and accountability, especially in relation to the Government and the courts,” said Joshua Prince, judicial candidate for Commonwealth Court. “This election is about restoring trust in our courts. When the law is applied fairly, everyone benefits—strengthening our schools, integrity of elections, public safety, and civil rights. That’s why Pennsylvanians are standing up and making their voice heard. They know what’s at stake,” said Prince. “I am eager to put in the work to serve, inspired by my unparalleled career of holding the Government accountable to the law and Constitution and love for Pennsylvania—the state where I was born and raised, and where my wife and I will raise our family.”

While Josh Prince is running on the Republican ticket in the primary, his commitment to fair and impartial justice transcends politics. The role of a Commonwealth Court judge is not to legislate from the bench but to interpret the law and the Pennsylvania Constitution as written.

Prince has built his career on defending constitutional rights and upholding the rule of law without bias, ensuring that every Pennsylvanian—regardless of political affiliation—is treated fairly.

A Pennsylvania attorney with over 15 years of distinguished leadership in legal advocacy and defense of constitutional freedoms, Prince has argued 45 cases before Pennsylvania’s appellate courts, securing numerous favorable outcomes due to his ability to accurately interpret and apply the law and Constitution as written.

In just the past six years, Prince has litigated 13 cases before the Commonwealth Court, winning 10, with two cases awaiting decision and which he expects to win. One loss is currently pending appeal before the Pennsylvania Supreme Court and is likely to be reversed. He is notably recognized for persuading the Commonwealth Court to reverse its own binding precedent, a decision later affirmed by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. His precedent-setting cases and proficiency in complex legal matters highlight his readiness to serve on the Commonwealth Court.

With ballot placement secured, Prince is launching a statewide Listening Tour to engage directly with Pennsylvanians, educate voters on the role of the Commonwealth Court, and ensure that their questions are answered and their concerns about Pennsylvania’s future are heard. “Our momentum is strong, but the work isn’t done,” Prince added. “Now is the time to connect with voters in every corner of Pennsylvania. Together, we will restore trust in our courts and ensure justice for all.”
