Cambria County 8th Grade Students Interview Commonwealth Court Candidate Joshua Prince

May 9, 2025

We are deeply grateful to Mr. Christian Wrabley and his 8th-grade Civics students at Greater Johnstown High School in Cambria County, Pennsylvania, for their warm welcome and outstanding questions during today’s interview with Commonwealth Court judicial candidate Josh Prince.

This conversation was part of the Student Candidate Interview Series, an initiative of the Committee of Seventy, led by Director of Civic Education Justin Villere. Their dedication to fostering meaningful civic dialogue and encouraging students to actively engage in the election process is truly commendable. The Committee of Seventy has also included information on Josh Prince in their voter guide, helping to ensure voters across the Commonwealth have access to key candidate insights.

The interview was conducted over Zoom, with students gathered in their classroom and Josh joining from the cozy kitchen he shares with his wife, Jessica—soon to be filled with even more joy as they prepare to welcome their first child. It was a privilege to share this time with students who are already thinking critically about justice, leadership, and the role of government in people’s lives.

The thoughtful questions posed by Mr. Wrabley’s class reflected genuine curiosity and a strong understanding of the world around them. Moments like these remind us why civic education matters—and why listening to the next generation is essential to shaping a better future.

Thank you again to the students at Greater Johnstown High School, the Committee of Seventy, and everyone who helped make this meaningful conversation possible. Best wishes to Mr. Wrabley’s students as they wrap up their school year!
